Reminds me of SF
December 26, 2008
Last night, we did everything early. Ate early. Slept early. Except for me. I had nothing to do. Everyone was asleep. So I just watched TV. I watched the movie in HBO around 9.00pm. The movie was Hot Fuzz. It is about Nicholas Angel, a very skilled and lawful police officer. He was transferred from London to Sanford. Sanford was so-called the perfect village. Suspicious murders start to occur. Sergeant Angel thought that all the murders were linked. He suspected the manager of a local supermarket for all the murders. All of the other police officers in Sanford thought he was crazy for thinking so. Why? Because the chief brain washed the others. The murders were really caused by the Neighborhood watch. They murdered all of the people who would changed their “perfect village status.” The people they killed were the people they find annoying. Sergeant Angel found it illegal and crazy. So he set off to arrest them all. He used the weapons from the Evidence room. He got the other officers to help him. The gun fight scenes remind me of SF. The usual it had a happy ending…
Festive Cheers
December 24, 2008
We don’t celebrate Christmas Eve the traditional way but we do have Noche Buena and gift-giving. We spend our day unusually. Last year, we spent it by house-hunting and mall-going. Last year’s Christmas was my most unusual. This year, it is also unusual. We started off by going to MMDA. You know… Metro Manila Development Authority. MMDA needs alot of improvements. If I could get a comments/suggestions slip from there, I would… say alot of complaints. My dad had a bit of trouble. That trouble wasn’t with the law. It was with paying the fine. He had his poor assistant line up there at 3am. Paying the fine of P150 finished at 1 pm… The license that was confiscated was on the year 1998!!! I think the MMDA was just getting money from us… innocent Filipinos. So if ever Bayani Fernando reads this, this is what I’m telling him, “Have a nice waiting shed built with a canteen. Don’t make the people stay in the bodega!”
After that, we went to Rockwell. We had a late lunch. Then, I went to Fully Booked. It was a really big book store. I was a bit disappointed when the Philippine Publications Section was just a table. WA! They have thousands of books there and all they had was table for Philippine Publications. Atleast, I get to have delicious yoghurt to make me feel better. We then went to my Dad’s office for their raffle.
Right now, I have alot of treats to munch on… chocolate, muffins, cookies, brownies… WOW! All of my favorites all in one day. I hope I don’t get diabetes… HEHE=)
Adventures of a Child of War
December 23, 2008
I bought this book last Sunday. It is about Eduardo Aguilar. He is about 11 years old when the war began. He lives in San Juan. He told his experiences in the Japanese Occupation in the story. He lost his friends. He wasn’t able to go to school anymore. He wasn’t able to do many things. His life was taken for granted.
There was a time where they had to steal rice from the Japanese. He also made a Japanese friend, Captain Abe. Captain Abe let Eduardo ride his horse, Nakama, everyday. Captain Abe provided him alot. He gave Eduardo medicine when he was sick; he had someone thought Eduardo Niponggo; he gave the Aguilar family noodles to eat and milk for Eduardo to drink. He treated them well.
Eduardo is adventurous and usually curious. He discovered the Japanese’ air raid shelter. When the Americans came, he got worried for his friend. Though, Captain Abe was able to return to Japan before the Americans came. After the Philippines was liberated, everything went back to normal.
Icing from the Cake
December 22, 2008
When I was in Grade 4, my classmate held her birthday party in school. She brought food to class and a cake. Me, being really silly, started wiping icing on my classmate’s faces. They all wiped icing back on my face too. I was the messiest of them all. My teacher scolded me for doing so. HAHA=)
I also repeated the same thing on our Christmas Party this year, though, no teacher scolded us. I wasn’t so messy too.
Signature Hot Chocolate
December 22, 2008
I remember last Dec24, we were at Starbuck’s. I ordered their Signature Hot Chocolate. I decided to put Cinnamon on it. So when I got to the condiments section, I was sprinkling Cinnamon on my drink, when the cap of the shaker fell on my drink. It was embarrassing. I pulled the cap and threw it in the trash bin. When I saw the barista cleaning up the mess I made, she seemed annoyed. Sorry for her.
A year has passed
December 22, 2008
Tonight, I was scanning my 2008 Starbuck’s Planner. I read stuff that doesn’t seemed that happened last year. I know. You don’t get my sentence. Time flies. That’s it. I remember my Christmas Eve last year. It was unusual. We went house hunting on that day. That was the day we found this house. I also remember that we had Starbuck’s. I also received a Starbuck’s Bearista and an Eiffel Tower puzzle for Christmas. This Christmas, I got a Rubik’s Cube. I know it’s a little too early for me to know what my Christmas gift is. A Rubik’s Cube was what I actually wanted. Though, as a gift for myself, I bought a bag from Human. It was not cheap… I also bought a book, Adventures of a Child of War. I have already read an excerpt of the book. It is about a boy in World War II.
Really! All of it happened a year ago… It really doesn’t seem like it. Goodbye 2008! Welcome 2009!
